Hi folks - if you normally subscribe to FB by email, you will not doubt have been very surprised by a post this morning that seems half ready - please ignore it - it is an incomplete one posted by an errant set of fingers and a tea-deprived brain.
It is nearly ready though, but needs tweaking.
(Ab)normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.
Tea deprivation is a serious matter. My grandfather (on my mother's side) used to work for the Civil Service and understood the importance of a decent brew.

Thanks Julian, yes, a pot a day is the old fashioned way. I rather like Tesco's Finest Assam - tis lovely. I like Yorkshire too, but I find the Assam works better with the super-soft/heavy chlorine water we have here!
ReplyDeleteGiven the lack of time I have had with regards to anything photographic, I have a feeling that the upcoming post will be in, er, Sheep-O-Vision. That's a just a warning like, so be prepared . . .
There was a great tea famine in the late 90s here in Korea. I used to get local black tea in the farmers' cooperative but suddenly they stopped selling it and I couldn't find it anywhere. That lasted for several years until Lipton's Yellow Label started showing up in the hypermarts. Then we got Tesco (called Homeplus here) in my town and lots of cheap and strong tea showed up. Tesco's Finest and so on. Including Assam! Now a lot of that has disappeared because I guess Koreans don't drink it that much. At least I still have Scott's "Puts-hair-on-your-chest" Extra Strong Tea from Tesco.

For all that the world loves coffee, and Lord knows I love a super-strong, cup-melter, I do love tea too. In Britain we just take it for granted that the rest of the world will one day catch-up . . but sadly it never happens ';0)
